Remembering Those Who Left Us Midway (Reference Page)

Some 249 of us embarked upon a journey together on 12th May 1975 to one day wear the coveted uniform of Pakistan Army as commissioned officers. We had wonderful two years at the Pakistan Military Academy, sharing our joys and hardships together. We lost some very dear friends who left the Academy for many fitness and other reasons, while a few stayed back to be passed out with the next course while we moved on.
آگاہ اپنی موت سے کویئ بشر نہیں۔ سامان سو برس کا ہے پل کی خبر نہیں
Life has been though very beautiful and enlightening for young lads of late teens and early 20s and later in our lives, but the angel of death keeps hovering over and taking those along who had run out of their time in the world. Arshad Aziz and Iftikhar Hussain were the first two of us we had left behind in PMA to succumb to a tragic bus accident near Nathia Gali on 7th July 1977 while we were attending our basic infantry course at Quetta.

Of the commissioned officers, Major Safdar Jahanzeb (FF/Aviation) was the first to bid us farewell in an air crash near Jhelum. He was followed by Captain Muhammad Salim Bari who was severely injured in a car accident in Saudi Arabia. He was admitted for a year in Saudia Arabia and was then repatriated to Pakistan where his unit (27C) looked after him till his sad heavenly departure. I had initially planned to include each of our dear brothers, now no more, in the drop down menu. But as the number started to swell, it became difficult to track individuals from the ever increasing long list. Secondly, some found it difficult to use the drop down menus easily. Therefore this reference page is being added to the Course Blog listing down each of the departed brother in the order of their date of death. You may bookmark this page and can just click on the name of the desired brother to see how we still remember them:

The list highlights stark reality of the life, it's fragility. We all are destined for the heavenly abode sooner or latter. Most of these lovely comrades however, were too young to die. Some of them lost their life in the line of their duty.
May their noble souls rest in eternal peace.
