(26 June 1953 - 25 June 2020)
25th June 2020 was yet another sad day in our lives as our dearest Gulzar Hussain, one of our very humble and brotherly natured friends, said Khuda Hafiz to this worldly life and boarded his Heavenly flight. His departure came just after about three months of Zaffar Iqbal Durrani's death.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (Ø¥ِÙ†َّا Ù„ِÙ„ّÙ‡ِ ÙˆَØ¥ِÙ†َّـا Ø¥ِÙ„َÙŠْÙ‡ِ رَاجِعونَ)
I could not find many of his photos but a few are being shared to keep his memories afresh in our memory lane:

Gulzar is seen receiving a course shield sponsored by Wasif in a special get together at Karachi on 20 April 2011 by Wasif with active support from Zaheer ul Islam, who was then Commander 5 Corps.

Although less seen, he was loved by all for his sincerity and love for others. Herein under are some sentimental feelings of some of us on Gulzar's sad demise:
Zahir recollects his interaction with Gulzar:
I came to know Gulzar Hussain intimately during my tenure at Port Qasim 2010-14. He was living in a nearby locality, Gulshan e Hadeed where he settled after his retirement from the local Signals Unit. He was a regular attendee of the local course mates' gatherings arranged in main town Karachi, about 30/35 km away. He was living simply while running a modest business laced with all sorts of difficulties. He would hesitate to bring forth his business foes to his course mates serving locally at senior positions. He met all his family obligations (brought up & education of children, marriages of daughters etc) with dignity. His son was still studying then.
As we were located nearby, we would visit each other more often. I would always encourage him to visit me at my workplace and residence at FFBL Plant and reciprocate occasionally. He would extend warm hospitality whenever we visited him along with my family. I still remember a lavish dinner he arranged for us at Pakistan Steel Club on my departure from Karachi in 2014.
Last time I spoke to him was about two months back to find out about his general wellbeing. He was humble, simple and extremely content. I have yet to find a person so gratified, fulfilled and satisfied for Allah's blessings and never heard him complaining against anybody or anything. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Sajjad Ali:
Very sad news about Gulzar's death. I happened to have talked to him a few days back and he invited me to his residence on my next visit to Karachi. Very sad, very shocking and very unexpected. ALLAH (SWT) unki maghfirat kare aur family ko sab r jamil atha fermaye. Ameen sum ameen
Qizilbash:
Very sad news. Such a lovely and loving course mate. Traveled over long distances to join the get togethers. All our brothers are leaving gradually, only Allah knows our destiny. May Allah bless Gulzar with maghfirat and a high place in Jannat. May Allah give patience and strength to Gulzar's family and friends to bear this loss. Aameen.
Khuda Hafiz, Gulzar Hussain. May Allah grant you the highest place in Janna tul Firdous. Aameen. May Allah bless him and all our brothers who have left for their heavenly abode before him. Ameen. May all those of us suffering from any ailment be blessed with shifa e kamla and long healthy lives. Ameen.

Thanks for sharing Gulzar's life story, some beautiful pictures Jalal Hamid Bhatti.
We feel sorry that due to Covid restrictions and health advisories, his funeral could not be attended by any of his coursemates denying a farewell deserved by him. May he forgive us for this.
We are losing friends. Time is now for more intimate support and communication with each other. I think every now and then we should randomly call our course mates to say hello
Exactly JHB, Coursemates n friends are our lifelines, we should spend as much time with them as we can. We are blessed to have so many communication platforms like whatsapp, FB, tweeter, FaceTime etc.
Jalal thanks for the reminder, Gulzar an excellent gentleman n a very contended Coursemate.
May Almighty Allah bless him the best place of Jannah tul Firdous Aameen.
