Our Malaysian hosts: Ramli and Ismail
While we spread out in our lives in and out of Pakistan, a part of us went back to Malaysia and became our ambassadors. Yes, I am talking of our dear Malaysian friends and course mates Ramli and Ismail. Due to lack of any communication in the times of internet-less world, we remained out of any worthwhile communication till Munawar Ahmed Sulehria visited Malaysia a few years ago and contacted Ramli. And thereafter since, the communication with Ramli and Ismail is continuing and whenever any one of us visits Malaysia, the warmth of Malaysia is seldom missing.

Now, whoever from 55 PMA Long Course visits Malaysia, Ramli is always there to welcome and offer his warm hospitality.

Recently Munawar Ahmed Sulehria met Ramli in Malaysia and he will be providing photos of him shortly which shall be displayed. Ramli quit the Malaysian Army awhile ago and joined the civil services. Here is how he describes his meeting with Ramli:
DEAR JALAL HAMEED BHATTI, ASSALAM O ALAIKUM,
HOPE YOU ARE HALE AND HEARTY. I HAD GONE TO MALAYSIA IN EARLY OCTOBER. THERE I HAD A CHANCE TO MEET OUR COURSE MATE FROM MALAYSIA, RAMLI. HE HAD RETIRED FROM ARMY AS A MAJ TO JOIN THE CIVIL SERVICE. HE NOW HEADS A SEMI GOVT ORGANIZATION WHICH MAKES HAJJ ARRANGEMENTS. HE WAS LOCATED ON THE SECOND LAST DAY OF MY STAY IN MALAYSIA SO ONLY ONE MEETING COULD TAKE PLACE. HE ENJOYS A GOOD HEALTH. HAS TWO SONS AND PERHAPS A DAUGHTER. WE HAD A DINNER TOGETHER AT ONE OF THE LOCAL HOTELS. I AM ATTACHING FEW PHOTOGRAPHS WITH HIM. BY THE WAY THIS WAS HIS FIRST MEETING WITH A COURSE MATE AFTER PASSING OUT.

My Dear Ramli, It is off course a matter of great joy to have learnt about you & our old colleague Ismail, I still remember you wearing those red tapes of senior under officer. it is almost 38 years back I am talking of our great & un forgetable days spent at PMA. You must be aware about our course reunions. You must join us along with Ismail some time. Regards to your family.
Aoa Ramli and Mujib l pray for a helthy life and prosparity of u both. Ramli l invite u to pakistan and honour me to be ur host. Mujeeb either u or me (one out of us has gone old.
